Pacik Receives CFRE Certification

Globally recognized as the primary credential for fundraising professionals, receiving the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification is a prestigious accomplishment to be proud of.

The College of Nursing is extremely delighted to celebrate with College Relations Officer Anna Pacik, who received her CFRE certification in March 2015.

“Being able to work every day with people who want to make a difference is inspiring, and at the same time very humbling,” said Pacik. “The journey of attaining my CFRE designation was an enjoyable challenge, one that has left me with a profound appreciation for the world of philanthropy.”

CFRE International sets the standards in philanthropy. Certified fund raising professionals make certain donors philanthropic visions are honoured and fulfilled. For organizations who are fortunate enough to employ certified fund raising executives, like Anna, these employees do more than secure a gift; they are strategic leaders who use their knowledge of relationship building, ethics and accountability to help fundraising prosper.

“The College of Nursing is extremely pleased to share Anna's success,” said Dean Dr. Lorna Butler. “She is one of very few College Relations Officers in the province and indeed the country to achieve this success. We experience her determination to build a strong reputation for the College with our alumni, the university and our communities. Achieving this goal is a testament to her professionalism and leadership for Advancement.”

The process to receive CFRE certification is not a quick or easy one. To apply for certification, candidates must document information in four categories:  Education, Professional Practice, Professional Performance and Service.  Once applicants have collected a specific number of “points”, they are then approved to take the official CFRE examination. The complete process took Anna five years to complete.

Congratulations once again Anna! We are extremely proud and lucky to have you in our College.
