Indigenous Initiatives
Learn Where You Live
The College of Nursing is continuously investing in a Learn Where You Live approach. We offer years two through four of our undergraduate program at campuses located in Prince Albert and Saskatoon, and using distributed learning at sites in Île-à-la-Crosse, La Ronge, Lloydminster, Muenster, North Battleford, Swift Current, Weyburn, and Yorkton. The first year (pre-professional nursing) classes are available at the University of Saskatchewan, through our province’s regional colleges and at the University of Regina. Learning close to home is one of the best indicators of both Indigenous student success and retention into the local workforce after completing an education. There is a great story on our website here highlighting the importance of taking the nursing program close to home from a student located in La Ronge.
Distributed learning uses technology to engage students and instructors who live at a distance from each other. Distributed learning enables students to access University of Saskatchewan courses and programs from Île-à-la-Crosse, La Ronge, Lloydminster, Muenster, North Battleford, Swift Current, Weyburn, and Yorkton. The vision for distributed learning is to provide a quality, dynamic and engaging learning environment that all students in the province can access.
The College is dedicated to establishing and maintaining high standards of academic quality and service through distributed learning, as in any classroom setting.
