Indigenous Initiatives

Health Teaching and Research Resources

It is important all College of Nursing faculty, instructors, staff and students have a complete understanding of the health impacts that follow from particular issues, challenges and strengths arising from Indigenous communities in our province.

In order to make the body of knowledge that currently exists on Indigenous health – from local, provincial, national and international sources – as accessible as possible, the University of Saskatchewan Library has developed a LibGuide on Aboriginal Health. Here you will find information on issues ranging from cultural competency and treaty rights to maternal health and tuberculosis. This LibGuide should be used to better integrate indigenous knowledge and issues into our teaching, learning and scholarly work.

If you have any suggestions on resources to add to this LibGuide, please contact our Nursing Librarian or Indigenous Studies Librarian.
