Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner

Program Overview

The two-year, accelerated, course-based Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP) program equips nurses with the knowledge, clinical expertise, and leadership skills to deliver advanced, independent care across the lifespan and in a variety of settings. Graduates are prepared to diagnose, treat, prescribe, order diagnostic tests, and manage comprehensive patient care, while contributing to innovation and leadership in healthcare. Program Delivery
Courses are offered through live web-conference seminars (synchronous). This live seminar format allows distance students to actively participate in classroom discussions. For information regarding technology requirements, visit the graduate program technology requirements page.
A student completing the Nurse Practitioner program will be able to:
- Meet the professional practice, ethical standards, and entry level competencies for nurse practitioners with respect to the safe and effective delivery of health care to individuals, families, and communities;
- Use the principles of evidence-informed practice and possess the ability to contribute to the body of evidence related to health care;
- Creatively respond to the health needs of individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations;
- Demonstrate skills in leadership, interprofessional collaboration, and community development;
- Further study at the doctoral level.
There are in-person residency requirements (on-site in Saskatoon) during the program. More information will be shared upon admission.
