Graduate Program Technology Requirements

The College of Nursing graduate programs makes extensive use of online and electronic resources. Students admitted to one of the graduate programs are required to own a modern laptop computer that meets the recommended specifications and have access to a reliable high speed internet connection in order to be successful in the program.

Students are required to use either a Microsoft Windows or Apple computer. Chromebooks and iOS devices (such as iPads) are not compatible with all the software required for graduate programs.

Students joining web-based seminar classes from home require a computer with high-speed internet, webcam, and headset. Alternatives to a headset include earbuds and a computer microphone. Many computer systems have built-in microphones and speakers. However, using external speakers and microphones without earbuds may result in problems with sound quality (i.e. echoing, feedback) that can interfere with learning and disrupt classes.
