College of Nursing

Biography

Regine grew up in northern Saskatchewan and still calls Big River home even though she has lived in Saskatoon for the past 20 years. She received her undergraduate and graduate education at the University of Saskatchewan (USask). Regine became a registered nurse later in life but is thankful for the road that finally led her to this dynamic and rewarding career.

Regine’s clinical experience includes over ten years of maternal bedside nursing. She also worked for public health during immunization seasons and in the community with the Healthy and Home Early Maternal Visiting Program. Her passion for educating and supporting families in the perinatal unit has been the foundation for her clinical teaching focus with the USask College of Nursing.

Regine enjoys teaching a variety of subjects as it allows for lifelong learning. Her current focus is on the obstetrical clinical setting with third-year nursing students. However, she also enjoys mentoring second-year students as they enter into their first clinical experiences.  In addition to supporting students in the clinical settings she enjoys teaching theory courses, coordinating clinical courses, and supporting 2nd year nursing labs. Regine is keenly interested in promoting wellness with her patients and learning alongside the students.
