Biography

Before joining the College of Nursing in April 2025, Jarett was the manager of health services (emergency services, specialties and safety) at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) Veterinary Medical Centre (VMC). Prior to VMC, Jarett spent two years working at the University of Saskatchewan as a human resources strategic business advisor. He supported areas on campus such as Teaching and Learning Student Experience (TLSE), College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (CGPS) and Facilities.

Before his time with USask, Jarett spent two years with the City of Saskatoon in labour relations (human resources/labour relations strategy) and four years as a staff representative with the Manitoba Government and General Employees Union.

Jarett spent more than 15 years in the skilled trades as a journeyperson welder and journeyperson industrial mechanic, working in mining, ironworking and building construction. Throughout his career in trades, Jarett held various executive positions in his local union and was a union activist during that time.

Jarett has a diploma in chemical technology and has worked in oil labs research and development at POS (now Keyleaf). He also worked as a metallurgical lab technician, and in this role, he conducted research, experiments, process studies and analysis for the potash milling process.
