Biography

Tara’s career began in 2006 after graduating from the Nursing Education Program of Saskatchewan (NEPS). In addition to her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN), she has a certificate in advanced diabetes education for healthcare providers and has fulfilled all requirements of the Canadian Diabetes Educator Certification Board to be a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). She completed a post-basic cardiology diploma, then successfully obtained certification from the Canadian Nurses Association, earning her the distinction of a Certified Cardiovascular Nurse (CCN(C)). She completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology (BA), Master of Nursing (MN) degree, and additional certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse (CPMHN(C)).

Her areas of employment have included general medicine and surgery, adult intensive care, post-operative recovery, emergency room nursing, First Nations community and homecare, chronic disease management, long-term care, and instruction in multiple nursing and healthcare programs.

Tara has been with her spouse for over twenty-five years and is a mother to three children. This adventure keeps her busy with activities and volunteer commitments. She enjoys reading, learning, and advancing her career, while raising her children.
