Mark Tomtene
Director of Operations and Strategic Planning

Mark joined the University of Saskatchewan (USask) College of Nursing in 2003 and has served in a formal leadership capacity as Director of Operations & Strategic Planning since 2015. He is responsible for operational and business aspects in the largest non-departmentalized (and most distributed) academic unit at USask. The role includes finance/budgeting, IT & distributed learning innovation, HR planning, facility design/utilization, metrics & evaluation, government relations, partnership agreements (MOA), quality/process improvement, and strategic planning. The most rewarding aspect is the opportunity to work with a diverse and visionary team of faculty, staff, and academic leaders to facilitate positive impact to the post-secondary education and healthcare systems in Saskatchewan.
