Biography
Kaitlyn Sloan has been an instructor with the University of Saskatchewan (USask) College of Nursing since 2025.
Kaitlyn received her Bachelor of Nursing (BN) from Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) in 2017 and her Master of Nursing with a teaching focus from Athabasca University in 2022. She successfully completed the CASN Clinical Instructor certification in 2022.
In her nursing career, she has mainly practiced in medical-surgical fields including orthopaedic and vascular surgery as well as medical-surgical ICU. In 2020, she began teaching clinical groups while continuing her clinical practice, and found her passion for teaching under-graduate students. She has taught in both St. John’s, Newfoundland at the Centre for Nursing Studies, MUN and Vancouver, British Columbia at the British Columbia Institute for Technology (BCIT). She has experience teaching in both the LPN and Bachelor of Nursing Programs and has taught clinical, lab, and theory courses.
Kaitlyn recognizes the connection between psychological safe learning environments and student success. It is a key component in her personal teaching philosophy.
