Biography

Jill Zdunich obtained her undergraduate and graduate education at the University of Saskatchewan (USask) (BA’97, BSN ’01, MN`16). She has a passion for education in nursing and for maternal child health and has taught with the College of Nursing since 2006.

Jill has an extensive background in perinatal nursing. Related clinical experience includes bedside nursing on the Maternity and Newborn Unit as well as working in the community with the Healthy and Home Early Maternal Visiting Program. She has a special interest in supporting breastfeeding families. She attained her CNA certification in Perinatal Nursing in 2018 and recently renewed this credential through ongoing learning. Her clinical teaching focus is obstetrical nursing and she teaches clinically in Maternal Care Services.

When not in the clinical setting with 3rd year students, Jill can be found teaching foundational or obstetrical theory classes, coordinating clinical courses, supporting students in 2nd year labs, and working with 4th year senior practicum students. Jill has a strong foundation in acute care general, thoracic, and vascular surgery, as well as burn and trauma nursing. She is interested in health promotion and is committed to best practice. She enjoys connecting with nursing students at all levels and participates in creative ways to enhance their learning.
