Jennafer Klemmer RN, BSN, MN, CDE

Jennafer (Jenn) Klemmer, MN, RN, CDE is a clinical instructor in the University of Saskatchewan (USask) College of Nursing. A graduate of the Nursing Education Program of Saskatchewan (NEPS) in 2009, Jenn has built her career around two passions: pediatrics and public health. She began her nursing career in pediatric inpatient care before expanding into public health, where she supported children and families through well-baby clinics, childhood immunization programs, influenza clinics, and postnatal home visits. These experiences strengthened her appreciation for community-based care and the importance of understanding patients within the context of their everyday lives.

After completing her Master of Nursing degree in 2014, Jenn joined the College of Nursing and has since taught across all years of the program. Her roles have included facilitating assessment and communication labs, leading pediatric clinical experiences, delivering pediatric-focused classroom instruction, and supporting senior nursing students in community practicums. She currently works with students in a variety of community settings, including elementary and high schools, where they engage in health promotion, disease prevention, advocacy, and community partnership initiatives.

In addition to her teaching role, Jenn specialized in pediatric diabetes with the Pediatric Endocrinology team at Jim Pattison Children's Hospital. Working closely with children and families from diagnosis through ongoing disease management inspired her to obtain her Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) designation. Jenn continues to work casually in pediatric and pediatric diabetes settings, bringing current clinical expertise and real-world experiences into her teaching. She is passionate about supporting student success and fostering lifelong learning in the nursing profession.
