Eunice Bawafaa RN, BAN, MScN, PhD

Dr. Eunice Bawafaa (PhD) is an Assistant Professor at the University of Saskatchewan (USask) College of Nursing. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Nursing with Psychology from the University of Ghana, a Master of Science in Nursing (Health Promotion Stream) from the University of Western Ontario, and a PhD in Nursing from the University of British Columbia. Dr. Bawafaa brings a passion for women’s health research informed by more than 10 years of experience as a practicing nurse, and as a health promotion coordinator and counsellor for pregnant women living with HIV/AIDS and their partners.

Grounded in health equity frameworks, her research examines women’s reproductive health, community-centred health, and nurse empowerment in marginalized and underserved communities. She is passionate about nursing care that advances social justice and equity in healthcare for vulnerable, marginalized, and underserved populations. 

Dr. Bawafaa’s teaching is committed to creating engaging, inclusive, and transformative learning experiences that inspire curiosity and critical thinking, while fostering a supportive learning environment for students.
