College of Nursing Development Officer Earns CFRE Designation

Miren Luczka (BA’05) joins a distinguished community of fundraising professionals.

The University of Saskatchewan (USask) College of Nursing is proud to celebrate a significant professional milestone for Development Officer Miren Luczka (BA’05), who recently earned her Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation.

According to the CFRE website, the CFRE credential is recognized as the international standard for fundraising professionals, demonstrating expertise in fundraising practice, a commitment to ethical standards, and dedication to ongoing professional development.

Individuals who earn the designation must meet thorough requirements related to education, professional practice, fundraising performance, and accountability, before successfully completing a comprehensive exam.

For Luczka, earning the designation marks the culmination of nearly five years of dedicated effort and professional growth.

"My CFRE journey has been years in the making, involving the documentation of my professional practice, countless hours of continuing education, volunteerism, and board service," said Luczka.

"Achieving this designation is incredibly meaningful and reflects my commitment to ethical fundraising and lifelong learning."

As development officer in the College of Nursing, Luczka works closely with alumni, donors, and community partners to secure philanthropic support helping create opportunities for students, strengthening nursing research, and advancing initiatives that contribute to the future of nursing education and healthcare in Saskatchewan and beyond.

Dr. Solina Richter (DCur), dean of the College of Nursing, praised Luczka's accomplishment and the impact she has made since joining the college just over a year ago.

"We are delighted to celebrate Miren's achievement in earning her CFRE designation," said Richter.

"Since joining the College of Nursing, Miren has quickly become an invaluable member of our team. She has built meaningful relationships, while helping advance our college’s philanthropic goals to support our strategic priorities. Her dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence are already having a positive impact on opportunities for our students, research initiatives, and the future of nursing education. We are proud to have Miren represent the college and look forward to the continued impact of her work."

Luczka's CFRE designation reflects her dedication to professional excellence, and her leadership in fundraising helps advance the College of Nursing's commitment to exceptional donor engagement and stewardship.

The knowledge and expertise she gained through the certification process will further support efforts to build meaningful partnerships and connect donors with opportunities to make a lasting impact through the College of Nursing.

"Fundraising is about connecting people with causes they care deeply about," said Luczka.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to work alongside our donors and supporters to help advance nursing education, research, and student success. Earning my CFRE strengthens my ability to do that work and serve our community even better."

Please join us in congratulating Luczka on this outstanding accomplishment and on earning one of the fundraising profession's most respected credentials.
