Dr. Lee Murray Receives USFA Award
Known for assisting and supporting the College of Nursing University of Saskatchewan Faculty Association (USFA) members, Dr. Lee Murray has been recognized for her work as recipient of the 2017 Peter T. Millard Award.
Murray is the Faculty Association Representative (FAR) in the College of Nursing, responsible for responding to requests from her colleagues for assistance and guidance with matters related to and ranging beyond the USFA Collective Agreement. She is a well-known and widely respected mentor in the College of Nursing who makes use of USFA resources and personnel to ensure her advice to colleagues is as current and cogent as possible.
“I am honoured to receive this award,” said Dr. Murray. “I would like to thank Len Findlay for nominating me. I appreciate the recognition, the validation and the valuing of the FAR role in colleges and in this particular case, the College of Nursing. I would also like to thank the USFA for their support, encouragement and the sound advice I have received over the years as FAR. This award belongs to my colleagues. I thank them for their belief in the collective agreement and appreciate them coming together and working together to bring positive change to the College of Nursing.”
