Nursing Education Program of Saskatchewan (NEPS)

Overview

The curriculum was designed to educate nurses who will practice in the direct care role within the framework of primary health care. It was developed around core concepts derived from nursing, social and life sciences, and included a strong clinical component. Implementation approaches were based on humanism, critical theory and phenomenology. Themes of health care, caring, ethics, diversity and critical thinking ran through all nursing courses.

Note: The last intake of NEPS occurred in 2010. The College now offers a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
