Biography
Dr. Diane Campbell joined the College of Nursing at the University of Saskatchewan in July, 2008. Dr. Campbell was awarded tenure in July 2015. Diane has spent much of her nursing career in community health in urban and rural/remote settings. Prior to her faculty position, Diane was a clinical nurse specialist in maternal/child health with Health Canada’s First Nations and Inuit Health Branch.
Dr. Campbell obtained her Diploma in Nursing at George Brown College in Toronto in 1985, her BScN from the University of Victoria in 1993, her MN from the University of Saskatchewan in 2004, and her PhD from the University of Alberta in 2012. Her dissertation examined the role of Clinical Nurse Specialists in promoting evidence-based practice in SK. She is the president of the SRNA sponsored Clinical Nurse Specialist Professional Practice Group. Her current research program is focused on the integration of Advanced Practice Nurses into the SK healthcare system.
In the 2020-2021 academic year, Dr. Campbell will be teaching NURS 200: Foundations of Nursing, NURS 321: Therapeutic Interventions for Individuals and Groups, NURS: 813: Teaching in Nursing, and NURS 205: Research for Evidence-Informed Practice.
