Study Abroad

In our globalized world, there is a growing need to develop initiatives that will support student understanding of global health issues. One of the best ways to instill a sense of global citizenship is an international learning experience, usually in the form of international student clinical practicums, field study or exchange programs.

In order to facilitate awareness of the intersection between health and culture and promote professional, personal and intellectual development of its students, the College of Nursing has established a variety of international practicum opportunities.

The College of Nursing is currently reviewing our study abroad program and not offering study abroad practicums at this time. Watch for an update coming later in 2017.

In September 2013, the first annual Student Study Abroad Survey was completed by the College of Nursing International Research Group. The study explored student perspectives related to international learning experiences to determine factors influencing their decisions to participate. The study surveyed 1058 nursing students in all programs at the graduate and undergraduate level, at all six sites and in all years of the programs.
